Y'wel was all smiles when he bent low to greet the young green. As the lizard flitted here and there, the brown rider patted Gwenath's flank. He was chagrined to find her so young, despite forewarning from Croith. Still, the rider in him overrode most of the disappointment as he found himself checking over the weyrling's frame. “You've been taking grand care of her – Not a thin patch of skin on her, and she's beautifully formed. Reminds me a bit of those lake birds you find in the warmer regions. Hello, Gwenath.” He winked at the green. Why did she have to be that young? I did try to tell you. Pity, isn't it? She'll be wonderful when she rises. Already thinking of poaching? Merely grooming, just as you seem to be want to do.
“Cookie!” Y'wel rose from his haunches and held out an arm, laughing, “I remember being so envious of you, 'Lis, for having a lizard. Most of us didn't get a chance for one, with chores and harper lessons, and yours was the closest thing most of us thought we'd get to a dragon for over a decade.”

Flustered in a disconcertingly pleasant way, Alisa couldn't help the blush that colored her cheeks at Y'wel's compliment. It was reaffirming to hear someone tell her that she was taking good care of Gwenath. The svelte Green Weyrling was pleased by the compliment, as well--she showed her pleasure by posing just like one of the lake birds that Y'wel mentioned, which elicited a laugh from Alisa. Not one to be outdone, Cookie somehow managed aerial acrobatics to get the man's attention. Shaking her head at the antics of her two bonded companions, Alisa smiled at Y'wel. "I remember. You and the others would always spoil him with way more treats than he deserved and was healthy for him. It took me almost a Turn after going to the Harper Hall just to get him in shape." She chuckled.
