Sillisa finally came to in a bed. It wasn’t her own bed but then it had been so long since she’d slept in her own bed that she very well could have been mistaken. She opened her eyes and looked around. She found herself to be in the infirmary. Her mind flashed back to the hatching. A green and a fine bronze had both found handlers and it made her smile. She had no memory of how she’d gotten here however but then she knew she wouldn’t have had to be here maybe if she did.

Before to long she was joined by her older sister and one of the assistant healers, “Now that you’re here, that just leaves the Weyrwoman herself as the only gold rider in the Weyr we haven’t seen recently.” As the young healer spoke, she made an effort to perform her standard checks on her patient. “You ladies really do need to learn that you’re not as tough as your dragons. It’s much more taxing on the human body to reproduce then it is on a dragon.”

Sillisa’s mouth fell open as she stared at the healer in disbelief for a few moments. She looked then to Hillisa who wore a grin on her face that stretched from ear to ear, “Seems you’ve been far too busy to pay attention to your own body sister dearest.” Sillisa still couldn’t form any solid train of thought beyond the prospect of her becoming a mother. She’d never thought about it before and wasn’t sure she ever wanted to be one but here it was facing her right in the eye.

The healer looked up fro her work, “Oh! Did I just let the tunnel snake out of the bag? I just figured you’d know by this point seeing as how you’re getting pretty far into the pregnancy already. It won’t be much longer before you start showing.” She finished with her check up and gathered her things, “We’re going to want to keep you here a while longer, make sure you get some rest before we send you back out there.” With a nod of her head, the healer lass made her way off to another room.

“You know you’re likely carrying more then one don’t you?” Sillisa couldn’t hardly believe her sisters words, “Why would you say such a thing?” “Well there is the fact that you’re a triplet and those sorts of things tend to run in families.” Sillisa sighed, “I guess him being half of a set of twins doesn’t help things either does it?” Hillisa chuckled at her sister’s comment, “Are you sure he’s the father?” She nodded her head, “Yup! There’s not a chance it could be anyone else’s. He’s the only one I’ve been with.” “Did you want me to go tell him?” “Let me figure out what I’m going to do first.” Hillisa patted her sister on the shoulder, “Okay then Silli’. I’ll be back later though. Nillisa’s going to want to hear about this one.” Sillisa soon found herself alone with her thoughts, well almost alone and found her hand hovering over her belly.
